Astrobiologist and Geobiologist
My name is Devan Nisson and I am currently a NASA Postdoctoral Program Scholar in the lab of Dr. Lynn Rothschild at NASA Ames Research Center.
I previously received my Ph.D. in Geosciences from Princeton University in 2023, and before that, I received my Bachelor’s in Science in Ecology and Evolution from the University of California, Irvine.
Exploring Earth’s Environments from Home to the Lab
Growing up on an orange grove in Southern California, I always maintained a passion for the outdoors.
In my free time you can likely expect I’ll be looking for wildlife from the deserts to the coasts, including such places as California, Arizona, and South Africa.
I am thrilled to bring my personal experiences with the natural world to my career, understanding life within, near the borders of, and beyond Earth’s extreme environments.
